Last year, Mitel announced the End-of-Life (EOL) of MiVoice Connect, with all support ending by December 31, 2029.

That doesn’t mean channel partners with MiVoice Connect customers can wait to act. At the end of this year, Mitel will stop design support for MiVoice Connect. Channel partners should begin transitioning affected customers to MiVoice Business (MiVB) now.

MiVoice Connect: EOL Timeline

Mitel ended sales for MiVoice Connect in 2024, starting with new systems in July and ending add-on sales in December. Three more milestones remain, but the next one is a doozy:

  • December 31, 2025. End of design support, which means no more operating system updates, patches, or security updates.
  • December 31, 2028. Hardware repairs discontinued. Users cannot RMA any platform hardware, such as voice switches.
  • December 31, 2029. No more technical support of any kind.

In addition, the impending end of software updates and security patches will leave systems vulnerable to hacking and other forms of intrusion.
